THIM PRODUCT & APP.jpg

The first smart ring to deliver intensive sleep re-training.

Using your THIM smart ring

When ready for bedtime – simply place THIM on any one of your fingers. Connect THIM to the app and THIM will emit a soft vibration to gently wake you soon after you have fallen asleep.

Falling asleep, repeatedly, can condition you to sleep better. Each attempt at falling asleep and then waking up is called a sleep trial.

HOW DOES IT WORK AND WHY IT WORKS

Studies shows sleep trials can help most people in improving sleep. THIM delivers these sleep trials during the first 1-hour of your bedtime. In the morning , most users do not remember being woken. Drifting between the early stages of the sleep cycle are subtle.

Track & MONITOR your sleep

THIM collects data from your finger, not your wrist. Your finger provides a greater range  of movement. THIM captures this extra movement and interprets those results through a unique sleep-tracking algorithm. THIM has been tested with PSG on detecting onset of sleep.

From the sleep lab to your home

Published insomnia research from the scientists demonstrates that on average, users experienced a:

  •        28 minute reduction in time awake

  •        30 minute reduction in sleep onset latency

  •        67 minute increase in total sleep duration

What does THIM measure

Sleep efficiency score. 85% or above is considered an excellent score.

Sleep onset latency (time taken to fall asleep each night)

Determines the stages of sleep and their duration

Frequency and duration of waking episodes

CLINICAL PAPERS

The Development and Accuracy of the THIM Wearable Device for Estimating Sleep and Wakefulness.
Scott H, Lovato N, Lack L. Nature and Science of Sleep. 13:39-53 Jan 2021

Together, these studies suggest that THIM is capable of monitoring sleep and wake overnight in good and poor sleepers to a similar degree of accuracy as two of the most popular actigraphy devices available.

A Randomized Controlled Trial of Intensive Sleep Retraining (ISR): A Brief Conditioning Treatment for Chronic Insomnia.
J Harris, L Lack, K Kemp, H Wright, R Bootzin. SLEEP, Vol. 35, No. 1, 2012

Treatment response was assessed with sleep diary, activity monitoring, and questionnaire measures. The active treatment groups (ISR, SCT, ISR+SCT) all resulted in significant improvements in sleep onset latency and sleep efficiency, with moderate to large effect sizes from pre- to post-treatment.

Intensive Sleep Retraining Treatment of Insomnia.
L Lack, H Scott, and N Lovato. Sleep Medicine Clinics 14(2) April 2019

Effective and durable cognitive/behavioral therapies for insomnia are time consuming and not readily available to the large insomnia population.  Two pilot studies and a randomized controlled trial have shown that ISR is an immediately effective and durable treatment of sleep-onset insomnia.
